protection
Psalm 91 mentions God’s protection: “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Through faith, worship, and prayer, we are protected from external and internal evil forces by committing ourselves to the righteous will of the Lord.
Just because we are under God’s care, it doesn’t stop the storms from happening around us. But it does provide incredible strength and comfort in every battle we face in this life. But the storms never have full reign, for right in the midst, He reminds us: You are held secure by a Mighty God. You may feel some wind, hear loud thunder and see darkness or rain all around. But His covering of protection and love surrounds you.

A Prayer for Strength and Protection: Lord God, heavenly Father, you know that we are set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: Grant us such strength and protection, to support us in all danger, and carry us through all temptations; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Source: Martin Luther, the German Litany, Third Collect).

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Ephesians 6:10-15
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
