Death
Death is a topic that is addressed throughout the Bible, and it can be a difficult and emotional subject for many. However, the Bible also offers hope and comfort for grieving people. One of the most well-known verses about death is found in Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, which states: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die.”
Another important Bible verse about death is found in John 11:25-26, where Jesus says: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” In this verse, Christ promises hope for eternal life through faith in Him.
The Bible also offers comfort for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Psalm 34:18 states: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
The Word of God promises hope and assurance of immortality for all of us who face the reality of death. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we find hope for eternal life and comfort in the midst of grief.
A Prayer in the Midst of Death and Loss: Our hearts are grieving with those who are hurting, for those who have lost loved ones, for those who have suffered such great tragedy at the hands of evil. We ask that you would be their Comforter that you would cover them with your grace and mercy, surrounding them in peace during this dark time. Thank you, God, that you are surely with us. Thank you that you care. Thank you that your Presence is close and that you weep with those who weep. We need you. We know and believe, beyond any doubt, that your power and love will never fail. Amen.

You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
1 Thessalonians 4:14

1 Corinthians 15:51-57
51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed- 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 10:28
28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Psalm 146:4-6
4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. 5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. 6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them- he remains faithful forever.
