Confidence
God helps us feel confident and sure of ourselves, even when we might feel nervous or unsure. When we’re about to do something new, like giving a presentation at school or trying out for a play, it’s easy to feel a bit worried. But God is there to help us feel strong and capable. With His help, we can find the confidence we need to do our best, knowing that He is cheering us on and supporting us.
In the Bible, Psalm 27:1-3 gives us a reminder of how God can give us confidence. It says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident” (NLT). This verse tells us that God is like a bright light guiding us and a strong shield protecting us. We don’t have to be afraid of challenges or difficulties because God is always with us.
So, whenever you’re facing something that feels a little scary or tough, remember that God is there to give you confidence. You can trust that He will help you feel strong and brave. Just like the Bible verse reminds us, God is our light and protection, so we can face anything with confidence knowing He is by our side.

1 Thessalonians 1:1-10
1 Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you. 2 We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. 3 We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. 6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. 7 And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia-your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9 for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead-Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
